Description
The 12-Gauge Round Point Shovel is the best of both worlds: strong enough for heavy-duty projects and able to easily dig and scoop materials. The 12-Gauge’s cutting edge is pointed at an angle to penetrate thick roots, rocky areas, hard pack clay, and tough soil—dry or wet! A beefier version than the 14-Gauge, the 12-Gauge Round Point blade is thicker, making it perfect for prying against rocks with no flex or tip splitting. This is a true contractor-grade shovel with the flexibility for a variety of jobs, from trenching to planting to ground prep. Built to last your lifetime, the blade neck is reinforced so the handle connection doesn’t shift, the handle is strong even when levering thick roots, the closed back prevents soil buildup, and the footstep increases leverage. Constructed from 12-gauge 100% Made In The USA steel, it’s is up to 30% more durable against foreign competitors. The handle is made from high-quality fiberglass and coated in a polyester veil to prevent splintering and increase strength. The extended neck length provides additional support and reinforcement along the handle, with strong rivets to secure the connection. It also features the option of a D-shaped polypropylene grip with a no-slip texture, designed to increase leverage while wide enough to accommodate work gloves, or a rubber grip to provide maximum comfort and to decrease hand fatigue even when working on those heavy-duty projects. The Bully Tools 12-Gauge Round Point Shovel comes with a limited lifetime warranty that protects against defects in material and workmanship.

I am a bit “old school” when it comes to wooden handles on yard tools. This is my first such tool with a fiberglass handle, but I am very satisfied with both the handle and the metal spade.
When a new wooden handle was no longer sufficient to restore my 40 year old, very faithful shovel to working condition, I looked locally for a replacement, but everything was junk. even so-called “contractor” tools. Doing some online research, I read the positive reviews on this one and decided to give it a try, even if it meant taking the leap to a fiberglass handle. I live on a rocky acre in Northern Nevada and use a shovel frequently to move dirt, dig holes for planting, and dig and pry around native “brush” to keep the lot thinned. After a year and a half of use, this shovel has done every thing I have asked, and I would highly recommend it.

The spade is blunt and thick, but I’m a hefty man at 330lbs and 6’4 and sunk through gravel/dirt that made digging with typical shovels a miserable burden. This can trench quickly and lift out heavy loads without issue. I have used it to dig/pry out ash tree roots with great success. I have gone through maybe 15 shovels in the last decade but I think this investment will really stand up to the torture I put on my shovels. I highly recommend. Also, I have not sharpened it as I don’t really feel the need, but you definitely could if you desired.

This shovel is exactly what it says it is, a super heavy duty shovel. The problem is, it’s so heavy on the blade side, that it’s a little wieldy to use, and off balance. I would have preferred a thinner metal shovel. But if you need a bullet proof shovel, this is the one.

Extremely well built shovel, purchased specifically for hard-pack rock in Northeast Oklahoma, Northwest Arkansas area. Will be used for trail-building, mountain bike and hiking trails. Yes this shovel is heavier, but it will last a lifetime. No doubt at all this will last. This shovel is not meant for dirt/soil, this is meant for tough hard-pack clay or rock, and will be perfect for around my area. Will not sharpen any more than factory so I don’t crack the edge on rocks. Amazing quality!

I’ve already gushed about the company, personnel and my growing collection but again, I’m so happy with the quality of all my Bully Tools. All of them! I’ve put all my shovels to the test. Not a destruction test. Who would? I think I’d be destroyed first in the attempt. But my rough use of the metal is just a joke for them. Heavy tools for tough jobs. I’m impressed for sure! Just a little care and you’ll have tools for life and to hand down for generations. What’s more to say? Oh yeah, American made!!!

This will be the last shovel you will ever buy. It’s built by your fellow Americans using only American Raw Materials. See for yourself & you too will understand why nothing compares to a Bully. This will be passed down to the next generation. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, The Keweenaw Peninsula to be exact. Our soil is extremely rocky, & very difficult to dig in. Not with this shovel, It makes digging a breeze. It’s as solid as a rock. Nothing flimsy about it. Can’t say that about the imported junk.
