Description
Weeds are every gardener’s biggest challenge, and our Garden Hoe by Bully Tools is the answer, especially if you want to avoid using sprays or back-breaking work. Your average garden hoe’s design flaws are poor metal quality and a flimsy handle/tool joint, and they don’t last with hard use; not our Bully Tools Garden Hoe! It is over-welded to the steel-encased neck that prevents bending or breaking. Because of this durability, our Garden Hoe can be used for everything from chopping and removing weeds, to cultivating and smoothing garden soil, to notching out garden rows and dislodging rocks. The Garden Hoe’s shape and light weight is what makes it easy to use: the paddle-shaped head and 90-degree angle means you don’t have to bend uncomfortably or strain your arms. Constructed from 12-gauge 100% Made In The USA steel, it’s up to 30% more durable than foreign competitors. Its long handle is made from high-quality fiberglass and coated in a polyester veil to prevent splintering and increase strength; the rubber grip provides maximum comfort and decreases hand fatigue despite extended use. The Bully Tools Garden Hoe with Fiberglass Long Handle also comes with a limited lifetime warranty that protects against defects in material and workmanship.

This hoe reminds me of those we used to machine on the farm. The only thing I am concerned about is the rivet that secures the metal housing to the fiberglass handle. It held up well after several hours of heavy use however. The rubber cap at the top of handle began to turn after the first hour. Personally I like that it turns and moves and perhaps that is how it’s designed. I used this in a area of rocky soil and the heavy gauge metal held up well. All I need to do is file it out a bit and it’s ready to go. Note: Wipe the metal down with a thin coat of 3 and 1 oil after every use. it will prevent rust over the lifetime of the tool.

First I was surprised how hard it was to buy a good quality basic Hoe. I looked at all the ones at the hardware stores and just didn’t like the quality. When I looked at the ones with the wooden handles that have a hole drilled in the end for the metal hoe shaft to insert into, I could see the wood had already cracked around the metal shaft, so failure is likely. And when they do fail, being a DIY kind of guy, I thought it would be difficult to fix as it seems to just be a design weakness.
It took a bit of searching to find this Bully Tools hoe and I am happy with my purchase. Its a nice and solid piece. With the hoe mounting around the handle start, If the shaft did break, I think it would be easy to fix or replace with a wooden handle. My only complaint is that it was very blunt when it arrived. But I can see that being by design to save injury and possible resulting legal actions if any one was injured during shipping and handling.

I was tired of hoes that snapped at the tool/handle joint after minimal use. Bought this one based on reviews and description. This one was seems substantial. The fiberglass handle appears to be strong and my guess is this will hold up under use. The hoe blade is well formed and is made from substantial metal so should not bend.
